Originsīy the early fourth century A.D., the Roman Empire covered a huge territory, from northern England to Syria. ![]() Im sure as a community could fill out the rest and even really set these split civs up as really unique to stand next to the original chinese and japanese civs of classic with equal respect.The Byzantine Empire eventually fell when Constantinople was conquered by the Ottoman Empire in 1453 following a siege. These fire launchers could do minimal splash damage, but maybe slow down enemies hit by them or even have a stun effect, as the history was it was unsure how powerful they were as a destructive use, but they were quite the psychological weapon of war. It could even have two unique units, the Junk, a much larger and powerhouse version of the Galley Line, giving it some unique projectile properties, maybe multiple projectiles, and a variation of the typical hand cannoner, but instead uses "rockets" based on the chinese fire launcher tubes used during The Battle of Kai-Keng. Meanwhile with the Chinese, who were known for inventing gunpowder, block printing, and cannons, and never getting ANY of them, (Spirit of the Law Reference), could actually finally get access to as a off shot Chinese civilization where its Monks and Gunpowder Units. The Ninja's could be completely undetectable on the mini map, and maybe switch between ranged and melee attacks, to be in direct contrast to the straight forward brute force of the Samurai. ![]() There could be a Shogun/Ninja Japanese civ that has more emphasis on stealth and map intelligence gathering using garrison-able outposts and other unique civ bonues. With the new Indian Expansion being released, and basically with Indian Civ being basically "Split" into 4 new Civs, I was looking back at some of the other existing Civs that could use some "Expanding out" and the Japanese and Chinese Civs have a lot of possibilities. ![]()
